Public First Aid courses are available to individuals on the weekends. Senior First Aid has been renamed to Apply First Aid and Mathisi provides every individual with a workbook to be completed prior to class which reduces the classroom time. Students then attend a 4-6 hour class session to complete the learning process and practical.
Students will learn: Scene Assessment, Casualty Assessment, Infection Control, Calling for Help, CPR, Reporting, Legal Requirements/Consent, Manual Handling, Self Evaluation/Debrief/Stress Management, Understanding an AED, Privacy & Confidentiality, Bleeding, Choking, Shock, Unconscious, Chest Pain, Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Abdominal Injuries, Burns & Cardiac Arrest, Hypothermia & Hyperthermia, Crush Injuries, Eye Injuries, Head Injuries & Strokes, Spinal Injuries, Soft Tissue Injuries, Fractures and Dislocations, Seizures & Diabetes, Near Drowning, Poisoning & Drug Overdose.
Many people underestimate the importance of being First Aid qualified. Once you are qualified the people you are most likely to ever have to perform first aid on are the people close to you-your family and friends.
